This sounds like the most stupid thread ever made, but hear me out.

I'm having trouble setting up his cage. The cage is too big for such a tiny bird.

I have the f040 Prevue hendryx. I have 5 rope perches, a coconut sleep hut, a boing, and 8 toys. I also have 3 natrual perches, but I don't like them as they are too smooth and slippery.

Anyone have an idea on such an overwhelming project? He was just recently moved into his cage with all his perches on the bottom. It feels like I need even more perches!!

Here's what my problem is. I'm afraid it's going to look ugly. I never liked the way I have set up cages. I feel like I space it out too much resulting in too much room being wasted. I want it to look semi crowded and really fun.

Looking back, I feel more retarded then ever. I'm basically trying to replicate my cage to ones I really liked on the Internet but it's so hard because I don't have exactly the same stuff as they do.

I recently got new rope perches for Jaid because I'm sick of looking at Jaid's empty cage. I'm thinking of giving Danny Jaid's old rope perches too. I can show you my set ups for both those guys when the mail arrives if it'll help.

Don't worry, it doesn't need to be constructed right now. You can change things around as much as you need to. I honestly like my setups, but then again I am VERY symmetrical, so everything is balanced. I have to agree with you, for only having one bird in the F040, it always looks so empty.

It doesn't have to be too crowded - most birds appreciate having some room to move, and if it's big enough and spacious enough he can fly around in it! He's very young right now and still learning his bird skills, so a simple arrangement where he can move around the cage fairly easily is good. You can make it more complicated later if you want to.

Perches that are too smooth can be roughed up. You can scratch them up with the tip of a knife or any kind of rough files that you have on hand. Manzanita perches in particular tend to be kind of slippery, and they're very common.

This hit the jackpot. That was the whole problem! I mean, I wanted to make it all fun and complicated, but I couldn't because he's too young. I didn't even think of it. I just felt overwhelmed on the setup because I subconsciously knew it couldn't work.

Thank you! (You too, bluekeet). I'll just keep it nice and simple until he learns his skills. Besides, I bet he'll appreciate some flying room. :)
