I've had this question for a while now, ¿How are parrots different from parakeets? I would say the size, but again, there are rosellas, Princess of Wales, golden parakeets, etc, etc.
Is it just a name? Or a specific ability between the two?
I would really like to know, I'm just curious.

All parakeets are parrots but not all parrots are parakeets. A parakeet is a small to medium sized hook bill bird with a long tail. Love birds and parrotlets can't be classified as a parakeet even though they are small because they don't have the long tails but conures, cockatiels, and ringnecks can because they have the hooked beak, and long tail. Macaws aren't parakeets because they are large. I hope that makes sense.
