I only heard them feeding him twice yesterday, the last time was late afternoon but as you said I could have missed the sound.
He seemed same size as the day before, really tiny, I don't remember my other babies being so tiny ever the first days of their lives.
The parents are still sitting on the eggs even though today I was a bit worried because Trilly stayed inside all morning... That's usually Frank's shift. He was out yelling a lot so I thought maybe she was sick.
Fortunately she was fine.

If they fed their previous clutch well, it's possible that something wasn't quite right with this baby and they knew it. Or maybe the baby wouldn't take the food very well. We'll never know the reason, but if any more babies hatch keep a close eye on how well they're being fed and how fast they're growing.

Thank you, I will do that, I am pretty terrified of this happening again!

When this morning I opened the cage, both parents launched themselves out and didn't seem eager to get back in to the eggs.
I checked them and they were cold, so I think they have stopped sitting on them.
I was wondering whether it would be a good idea to leave the dummies and the nest in place, or just wait a couple of days to confirm the abandonment of the nest and then remove everything.

I was thinking, maybe if I leave everything as it is now they won't try to nest again? It's imperative that they don't start another clutch right now because we are moving next week, if it happens I'll deal with it but I would immensely prefer not to have to move the nest full of fragile eggs with the parents sitting on them!

Something must have gone all wrong this time. One of the real eggs looks like there is definitely something inside, so I can't understand why the poor baby didn't come out of it.
I won't move them yet, but the egg was stone cold this morning so I doubt he's still alive. It's so sad :(

It's probably best to remove everything. Packing up will be a big disruption of the normal routine, and that will help discourage them from starting a new clutch.

I'm sorry that you lost the egg, although maybe it's for the best considering the upcoming move. Can you tell how far developed it was? If the embryo filled up the whole egg except for the air cell there might have been a hatch problem. If the egg wasn't that full, maybe something happened at an earlier point - either the egg got chilled or the embryo just wasn't viable.

The egg has a darker shell now; I think it's quite full, I am so sorry for the little one, but I absolutely wasn't expecting them to stop sitting on the eggs, it just happened overnight! And Frank went back in the nest about three hours ago.
It seems just like you describe it, almost completely full with about 1/5 of the egg slightly lighter in colour; it's a bit translucent but completely intact, no cracks.
Maybe I should look inside but I don't have the guts, to be honest. Unless looking inside will give sure answers about what happened I'd prefer to avoid it

You could candle the egg; that should give you an indication of how far along the embryo was when it died and possibly a cause.
