My uncle gave me a male pigeon and I bought the female and when I went to put the female in with the male, the male started picking in the female. Is this normal?

Hi, welcome to the group! I don't really know anything about pigeons, and I'll look for more info tomorrow. But it would probably be a good idea to introduce them more gradually. Pigeons are territorial, and he probably sees her as an intruder.

I'm more familiar with parrots and they have territory issues too. The standard advice is to keep them in separate cages at first where they can see each other and get used to each other's presence, then introduce them in neutral territory. Which basically means anywhere but in the established bird's cage.
