I'm sure they also don't want your birds having babies left and right that you won't want to get rid of if they're healthy, and will cause trauma if they die or have deformities. Maybe you should just discuss the issue with them without deciding which outcome you would prefer, to see what they suggest. Take the idea of getting rid of the birds off the table at the start and see what they can suggest as a more constructive solution. A second aviary would be super cool lol. Boys could stay in one and girls in the other.

Georgie continues to sing but Marshmallow wants none of it.
A second aviary would be awesome. But I first have to find a way to ask my parents to redo this one before asking for another. Maybe one day.

If you're going to redo the current aviary, maybe the remodeling could include a partition in the middle with a door in it, so you can separate the birds into two groups when you want to. Doors are easy to make, the only extra supplies are a couple of hinges, a handle, and a latch.
