Can't wait to see pics. My oldest chick is 7 days. I have learned so much from them. You amaze me with all that you have learned.

23 days is pretty young to be fledging, although I've heard of babies doing it as young as 3 weeks. If he really fledged he'll be out of the nest again tomorrow.

The oldest baby likes to perch on my finger. He doesn't have full balance, but he still does it. :)

When I put him back in the nest, he poked his head through the exit.

They're not quite ready to fledge yet because they're not fully feathered, but they're getting there. The baby that was out of the nest last night probably fell out by accident. They start spending a lot of time looking out the door a few days before they fledge, but you've already raised a clutch so you know that!

The pictures are so cute. How are the parents doing feeding them or are you having to co-feed a lot? Are they still being plucked?

It actually happens in the afternoon.

The baby came out again today!! Instead of being on the grate, he was perched inside the food saver dish bowl ! He had to climb and perch to get there!

I put him back in the nest.

They are still being plucked. I feed them 3 times a day. And they parents feed the fourth time. I woke up at 6:04 am to feed them! I feel like a parent waking up in the middle of the night to feed their son. It's great practice for the future so I'm all for it :D

If you look closely at the last batch of pictures I posted, you can see that there is black marks on the begging on the sides on all of their beaks. Will there beaks become black?

I also see ghost pearls on all of the babies! They are split to lutino as well. :)
