The chicks are feathering out nicely. The oldest is a beautiful whtefaced pearl, the other two are pieds. I have been spending time with them out of the cage, first with them on a table but today I put them on the floor. They all like to be held. I am beginning to see a little personality. Chick #1 is on the timid side, not ready to explore on h/her own, prefers to be close to me. Chick #2 was off and exploring, struting h/her stuff. Chick #3 is little young yet and really just stayed in one place, loving when I picked h/her up.

I am going to make it a priority this week to get pictures posted. I am anxious for all of you to see them.

I'd like to see them too. The breeding process seems to be going very smoothly and normally for you, and it's wonderful when it works out that way.

Those are gorgeous babies! Whiteface pearl pied is always a spectacular combination, and I love the little yellow "collars" on the other babies.

So who is the Daddy and what are the chicks? Chick #1 is a whiteface pearl pied, chick #2 and 3 pieds. Sometimes I think the chicks look cinnamon. If Bitsy is the Mom a cinnamon pearl pied split whiteface and Roscoe a cinnamon pied split pearl and whiteface this is what the genetic calulator says.

As a further update when I had the chicks out for pictures this afternoon, chick #1 and 2 where flapping their wings. They looked so cute. Then when back in the nestbox chick #1 was sticking h/h neck out and Roscoe came and pushed him back in--feeding time. After feeding one of the pied chicks was sticking its neck out. They are 26,24 and 21 days today. Growing up too fast.
