Chicks have not gained any weight since yesterday. I did see Roscoe feeding one of them this am and I believe he feed both of them. They do have food in their crops. Tummy area looks a little red to me with a couple of black lines. Should I give them some pedialyte or add a little formula to some whole grain cooked cereal?

Disregard my post. Chicks have gained weight. It was the cloth I had on the scale. Their color is really alright. I guess I am just a little CRAZY today. Chick #1 is 13g at 4 days, chick #2 is 7g at 2 days. :oopssign:

If you have any concerns, you can always post pictures and we'll do our best to see if they look OK!

Carolyn, thank you. You have always been a good help and I have always appreciated your encouragement. I seem to be more of a nervous nellie than I was with the first clutch.

Thank you Hamovfids.

Chick #3 hatched late this aftenoon. We were not expecting it to hatch until tomorrow so it was really a surprise. It was wet when we saw it so I am leaving it alone for tonight. I"ll check it in the am. It'a WHITEFACE!! So i"ll have my pieds and a whiteface. One more egg to go.

It is so amazing to watch Bitsy and Ropscoe with the chicks. They are so gentle and both make sure they are well fed before they go in for the night.
