Does it surprise anyone that Emma prefers her own egg to the fake egg? The two do look a little bit different. The fake egg is a little smaller and is a bright white. Her egg has more of a light rose cast to it. I got the eggs from Bird Supply of New hampshire. Are there better fakes?

I did try dummyeggs.com, but had trouble using their website.

She's still sitting on her own egg and ignoring the dummy egg.

Some birds are smarter than others. Mine aren't too bright and are totally fooled by fake eggs. But some birds can tell the difference!

I am glad somebody said it :) I thought I am the only one who is having a pretty dumb bird (sorry again, Trillie)

No dumb birds here. I did have a dumb snake though. It seemed like she could never get complete her shed on her own. She would get halfway through, glass over, then just let it sit on her skin once it was off. Then she would give me this look like "make yourself useful, pull this sucker off."

Sounds to me like you had a smart snake! She knew how to make you do the work of removing the old skin.
