What do you think about the iris comment? It seems like if I can see the iris clearly in the pic, that the budgie has matured to the point that the cere should be changing too, right? I dunno, I'm just making it up as I go along.

I dunno. Baby Poppy had his eyes and cere develop at pretty much the same time.

It's been a couple of days so here goes with 3 more pictures of Ocean.
This time I held her to get good pictures of the cere and head in general.
I see a lighter ring around the nostrels now... hope that helps?

Well she's for sale Although I doubt you'll come to Belgium for a bird :-p
for all the help!
I might post another picture Later today or tomorrow. It'll be Tiger (should be somewhere else on the forum already, but still very young. I'll make a guess myself to see if I'm getting the hang of it.

As promised, here are 2 more pictures of Tiger.
Now before you get to see them here's my guess. After looking at both pictures I'm inclined to believe Tiger is a she. So my guess is a hen... Hope I don't bang my head later on

Here's my guess-a-roo: a recessive pied which means if male, the cere would be pinkish-purple-ish and in those pics, it does look pinkish. So I think it may be male.
Please keep in mind I've never bred anything in my life (except for koi and minnows apparently), I'm just taking a semi-educated guess based on pictures I've seen online.

Hmm. Well, you're right about Tiger being a recessive pied Cloudy, but Specky is also a recessive pied and he didn't have any white on his cere whatsoever. It was a solid pink with just the faintest traces of purple, and I'm seeing white highlights.
I'm not 100%, but I'm going to guess hen.

It is fleshcoloured that's for sure... But I thought the white rings indicated female...
