Same here, Jan. I already took all the nestboxes away.

I spotted some nests in the grass today!! I think I'll leave them and watch my every step though.

Visited 2 breeders today. But came home empty handed. They either didn't want to sell the birds I liked, or I didn't like the birds they wanted to sell... (The ones I did like were spoken for)

I do hope I find a 2nd female soon...

As you may know I'm looking to separate my canary males from the females. To that end I visited a firm that does metalworks and specialieses in cages and aviaries. I'm waiting for them to send me an offer on what I want. (I did want to make it myself again, but I didn't have any materials around and after summing it all up I thought I might as well have a professional build what I want if I'm going to spend that much...)
Anyway, while I was there, I asked if they knew anyone with cockatiels near where I live.
They knew somebody that lives a while out but had to come over and visit the company real soon. They said they would ask him if he had what I was looking for. So I've got my hopes up!

I'll keep you guys posted!

Beautiful birds. I especially like the gray one. Such a soft color. Is it a female?

@dianne: when I got the grey one (mrs Tiggy) I wasn't sure yet about the gender. But shortly after putting them all together Stattler started dancing and singing to her, so I'm pretty sure she's female, yes.

The offer for the breeding boxes came in and I'm dazzled... I wanted a metal box with three breeding cages integrated in them. Sized 1m89 high, 1m45 wide and 0,5 m deep. I nearly fell of my chair when I read the price they would charge me for this 'small' tower of breeding boxes.

1750€

I expected something in the price range of 300 to 500 euro's.

I gues the clients they do have are swimming in cash... :money:

On the bright side, I did find a female bird! I took an option on this beauty:

Going to get her next wednesday.

Very pretty. How much is 1750 euros in American currency? If I did this right it's like $1,989 right?

If so, do they think you are buying a macaw? That is a ton for some boxes.

That is right, and also outragous! I've replied to the email asking them some time to think it over.
(during which I'll ask some other people to put a price on what I want)
