As you all know I'm looking around for 2 female tiels. A possible seller contacted me and sent me these pics. He's says the're female but since I'm new to the cockatiel world I thought I'd ask here first.

Those cockatiels are female except for the cockatiel that's poking his head from the bottom of the picture in the first one and the cockatiel that's poking is head on the right side of the 4th picture. The rest are girls. Very pretty too.

Lol, well... You did look at the correct ones! Thx. I might go for only one of them. So if I get into the cockatiels I can keep a couple out of both parents to keep as a pair without risk of inbreeding.

Female IF it's an adult bird. If it's a baby it could be either sex. Juveniles all look like females, but the boys molt into their adult coloring later.

Are these birds siblings? It might be better to get unrelated hens. Then you could breed the babies from one pair to the babies from the other pair if you wanted to. I'm assuming that your males aren't brothers.

These birds are not adults. I can see the ring on the first one is purple, and that's this years colour. So I'm guessing from an early nest.

I'll only get one from this breeder, and I'll ask him if the bird turns out to be a he to be able to trade it for a female... I hope I don't get attached to him by then...
I'm getting one on thursday.

I asked my colleague if the birds are related at all, but he has no idea. So better be safe and asume they're siblings I guess. I should have them on wednesday.
If I find the time I'll put some pictures up.
