Those of you who have been on the group for a while know what a soap opera I have going here, including the Teela and Squeebis brother/sister incest pair who aren't allowed to have babies with each other. I've never been able to get either one of them to pair up with someone else.... until now. I've kept the two of them apart for several weeks, and put Teela with Azazel and gave them a nestbox recently. I picked him because he's been wanting to make a threesome with Teela and Squeebis, although he seemed to be more in love with Squeebis than with Teela.
Teela and Zaz were acting pretty lackluster until two or three days ago when they suddenly started acting more like a pair. Yesterday Teela gave Zaz the "do me" signal and he climbed on her back but didn't seem to know what to do after that. Supposedly he mated with Ladybug back before I got them, but I never saw it myself and wasn't sure he really knew what to do or that he'd ever figure it out. But they just mated for real and it looked like he was doing it right! So there might be some fertile eggs in the future. Teela has laid eggs before so I know she's fertile, and Zaz has raised babies before and was a good daddy. We'll see what happens next. I decided to let Shodu lay a second clutch, so if Teela and Zaz don't produce their own babies they can have one or two of Shodu's to raise.

I see you've added Dweezil to your signature! I don't think he falls under the cockatiel catagory however.
Admittedly, I had to reread that post 3 times before I figured out who "Zaz" was.

So far it's looking like Teela's eggs are infertile, but it's too soon to tell with most of them. The newest one was laid yesterday.
They may not have mated enough times to get the job done effectively. I currently have 7 eggs from other hens that are just about guaranteed to be fertile (5 from Shodu and 2 from Ladybug) so Teela and Azazel will have some babies to raise no matter what. I also have another mystery egg that was probably laid by Ladybug but might have come from Snowy or Mims. There aren't any incest worries this time around, so if this egg is fertile it will get to hatch.

Teela's first egg is still looking infertile but the second one is definitely fertile. The mystery egg is starting to show signs of fertility too which removes all doubt about who laid it. It has to be Ladybug's.
A second mystery egg appeared today and the clues point very strongly to Ladybug again. So now I've got a dozen potentially fertile eggs in addition to the seven fledglings who are already creating chaos in the bird room. I'm gonna have babies out the wazoo.
