I'm giving him one feeding a day (at night). Well I am seeing him right now and he is eating a lot! He is in that food bowl for most of the day. He was pretty beggy in the beginning of the day but I'm seriously thinking he will do fine on his own. His crop is very firm and I see a lot of seeds in there. He is pooping a lot which means he is eating and I just saw him drink from the water bowl for the first time. He is 8 weeks old right now. I'm going to slowly shorten the feeding amount until I can ditch the formula for good. He is making the begging call while eating right now, it's so cute!

If he's still begging he isn't weaned yet. Even if he might be capable of physically taking care of himself, he isn't mentally ready for it yet. It sounds like it won't be too long before he really is weaned though, so enjoy the handfeeding period while it lasts!

He is completely weaned. His stomach is full to bursting. He isn't begging for food but he is making the sleeping sound at night which is super adorable. He doesn't making the begging call when he is eating. It's similar to the begging call but it's not it. He is ready. I didn't give him a feeding tonight (he is very full. His crop is bulging and I didn't feel him.)

Jan, I gave Cloudia, Griifin, and Maple away. I'm giving the rest to Susanne tomorrow. I really don't want to talk about it. Susanne said if I want them back she will give them to me. I'm not worried. If I can't live without them I'll just get them back.

Please don't ask me "what if" questions. I'm worried enough and don't need more stress added to me. I don't want to do this but I want to. No offense but I'm bored of my tiels. I had so much bad experiences with them in the past (I wasn't a good owner when I first got them) and I can't look at them without remembering how much pain they have gone through. I want conures now.

Jan, none of that was pointed to you. I'm just saying this to everyone. Please don't feel like I'm saying all that to you. You didn't do anything wrong.

Whatever happened in the past, we live in the now. And I think you've more than proven that you can raise a bird!

Tango will be so attached to you! Kinda makes me want to raise a bird like that but I have 12 hour shifts and I doubt my wife would take over, so I'd have to take him to work and that's a no go...

Tango is Weaned!! :fireworks: :fireworks:
When's the party? spend some :money:
