Wow, I've never seen one of those, before. Such a pretty bird! :) Love the wings.

Is he noisy, or fairly quiet? I've heard most conures tend to be really loud. I'm sure it depends on the individual bird, though.

This species is probably pretty rare in captivity, which is why we don't hear about them. You could try looking around for a breeder in your area, or ask your aunt and uncle where they got their bird. But you probably aren't going to find one up for adoption at a rescue or shelter because there aren't very many of them around.

Really? I thought you of all people would. I've seen them before. They're pretty small.

He's very pretty! He looks a lot like a green cheek conure but is that just me being uneducated about conures? I've only learned a bit more about them recently, mostly since B started posting about cute baby Rio.

I have never heard of those conures before. And yes, conure bites DO hurt, a lot actually. My aunts 2 little boys went to my room and messed with my bird while I wasn't there. I heard Rio screaming and went to him and saw them there. He was biting me HARD almost the whole day and drew blood once or twice. He ripped my skin with every bite he made but no blood came out. My hands feel sore. He would just randomly take a bite out of me for no reason whatsoever. They seriously hurt. I didn't scream. I gently said ow because I didn't want to encourage him but man did it hurt. Rio is perfectly fine now after I gave him a bath. They really calm him down.

They adopted him because his previous owner had a bigger family parrot and had to keep his cage covered so cracker wouldnt fly on top and they had to be let out at different times.Cracker has been to 3 homes.I found a breeder selling them in my area for 150 so I think ill have to hope they have more babies when its my birthday.Or I could end up owning one of these when I move out.
