There are a couple of mutations that are dominant over normal grey. Dominant yellow cheek is one of them and dominant silver is the other one.
Sex-linked mutations have special inheritance rules - this means lutino, pearl, cinnamon and SLYC. The inheritance rules are different for girls and boys. Girls can only get these genes from their father (it doesn't pass from mother to daughter) and if she gets the gene from dad she'll be visual for the mutation. She won't get any kind of matching gene from mom so it doesn't matter what mom looks like. Boys have to get the gene from both parents to be visual.
