I couldn't find the appropriate place to post this, but, hey...

I don't understand how molting comes into birds from time to time, like, is there a season where all the birds molt at once? Or does each bird molt individually? Because Pip and Coco started molting at the same time, so I'm not sure if there's a precise date regarding their feather change, or if that's not the case at all...

Does anyone know? I was just wondering.

With cockatiels it varies. Breeding birds usually molt after the breeding period is over. Birds that are outdoors a lot may molt at a specific time of year, triggered by weather conditions or day length or whatever. Birds that are indoors a lot may have a series of small molts throughout the year. And there can be exceptions to all of these rules lol.

My birds are outside all the time and I can tell you they just stopped molting.

The bottom of the cage was like one huge feather-fest...
