I have a sun conure and I believe that you'd be making a grave mistake in putting a young sun in with any other adult bird. You are very likely to be facing a dead or severely injured bird if you do so. I hope you rethink this move.

Mango wouldn't injure another bird although a Sun conure could but if young and introduced it could work out especially if they are introduced before buying so then I know before wasting my money.Anyway this idea is long gone you know u get those days when u think you want another bird and look at a specific species and then a while later you dont :bigsmile100:

It's usually not reccomended to house two completely different species, unless if their personalities are compatible. You wouldn't be able to know if the conure's personality was compatible with Mango's until after a couple weeks. Then even then, they can always turn against the other bird even after knowing said bird. When we moved the finches in with Joey, they were fine for a couple months. Then they realized that Joey can't fight back despite being twice their size, so they've been bullying him.

They haven't done any real damage, but I'm getting a new cage for the tiels and moving either Joey or the finches in their current one as soon as possible, before they begin to do damage (and finches can do some damage to other birds when they're determined enough).

You have a sun conure? That's awesome! I have one too. Can you post pictures of yours?

Age and breeding condition of the bird can make a big difference in their aggression level too. An older bird that's hormonal can display a very different personality than it had as a baby.
