Allright...

Since I'm a noob and will always remain to be one...

I've used http://www.gencalc.com/gen/eng_genc.php?sp=0Cock this calculator to see what these two would produce...

Timon

With The Swedish Chef

I have Timon down as: Whiteface Cinammon Pied
I have The Swedish Chef down as: Pearl

So the calculator tells me all males will be natural /cinnamon opaline(pearl) ADM.pied blue(whiteface) and all females will be natural cinnamon /ADM.pied blue(whiteface)

So To me that sounds like all males will look like normal cockatiels (aka grey) or am I getting the 'natural' wrong? But they will be split to Cinnamon, opaline and Pied.

For the girls they will all be Cinnamon split to whiteface AND pied.

So basicly I'll have to tell the girls and boys appart from the softer tones in the girls and the stripes on the feathers as nothing else will be 'visual'. Is that correct? Or where did my brain fart along the way??

EDIT: one chick hatched in this nest and it has yellowish feathers...

To be honest Timon is my favourite... He's 6, maybe 7, the previous owner wasn't sure...

It looks like there might be some ghost pearls on Timon's wings, so he might have the pearl gene. If you get any pearl babies you'll know that he's got the gene.

I think he's cinnamon, but the feathers on the upper part of his wings look so dark in this picture that I'm not 100% sure. But if he's cinnamon, then all the girls will be cinnamon and the boys will be normal grey (natural) split to cinnamon. All chicks will get the pied gene and whiteface gene from him, and all the boys will get the pearl gene from their mother.

Yellow down means that the baby is not whiteface, but we can't be sure of anything else at this point. If you get any babies with white down, it means that the Swedish Chef is split to whiteface.

I'm afraid for this clutch it'll be just the one chick. Still have to candle the other 2 eggs again but don't think they will show much more than they did last time ... (which was zilch)

Have you ever used this calculator? http://kirstenmunson.com/cockatiels/virtual-breeder/

That's the one I used, I loved that one. It's so simple and easy.

Looks like that's for Ipads and the like. I'm on my desktop now (so it doesn't work) and have an Android phone. So, no I haven't used it... I can't!

Sorry, poster, formerly known as bumble b, all I get is 'plug in not working' and a message popping up "the update can't be applied", if I would like to download the IOS-app...

That stinks. I remember it only worked for desktops. The computer version needs the shockwave plugin. They also said they won't be updating it anymore. Only the mobile one.
