I have more but I didn't want to disturb them since most of the moms are sitting on eggs.

2 mature cocks 7 mature hens and about 12 chicks.

In september I'll catch them all out for inspection, injections and I'm contemplating doing a DNA test on all chicks then.

Depending on the results I might keep up to 4 cocks and 12 hens. The rest will be put up for sale.
how many bird birds do you have in all?
Well there's 5 cockatiels.
The good 20-some canaries. (Just found another nest in the long grasses my number could go up to 26 if all eggs get hatched and there are 2 more nests I can't reach because the miscreants hid behind the cages I have the excess zebra-finches in)
The lone finch.
And the 13 budgies.
I'm keeping 4 zebra finches - but currently have 14. (10 are up for sale and that includes only 2 females!!)

That makes (for now) a 54+ birds in total!

BUT:
I would like to downsize on the number of all my birds by oktober this year.
This is my prospect:

Canaries
Max of 4 males - 16 females (3 males - 12 females is what I'm hoping for I would like another white mutation male) When we hit januari I'd put the males in breeding cages with two females each. (Selective choice on the females) and give them nestboxes mid-march.

Budgies:
4 males - 4 females + unsold chicks born in 2015
I'll pick out 2 couples to breed with in seperate cages starting the separation from february. I hope that not providing nest boxes in the flight will prevent any unwanted eggs.

The lone finch:
I'll get a goldfinch too, so 2 finches (If the male has a good appetite he'll be allowed to crossbreed with the excess of female canaries (not selected for breeding with the canary males). The offspring of the crossbreed is highly demanded in my parts. But I will not cage him up. He'll be in the bigger flight zone)

Zebra-finches:
1 male - 3 females - all in the bigger flight.

Cockatiels:
3 couples - no breeding untill 2017 (unless I notice eggs on the bottom of the flight at which point I'll remove the lovebirds into a breeding cage with nestbox to see wether they still feel the urge)

In total I would have 40 birds + chicks from the budgies of 2015.
(All my zebra-finches and canaries in supernumerary will be sold to a dealer if no homes are found by beginning of december)
