Do you talk to her often? Maybe you could ask her to tell you more about Plummies. The people who I was talking to are Ex-Plummy owners so dont know much.

If you have any specific questions I can ask her. If I just say "tell me about plumheads" she'll probably say "what do you want to know?". She was just a small home breeder so she might not be too much of an expert on them.

Hmm What type of seed she feeds hers,If hers eats pellets because I heard its hard to convert plummies even though they will eat anything else other than pellets. Also I wanna know if he will get any bigger because im confused looking at videos and they look huge.

OK, I've made a list of questions. I can tell you right now though that he's probably reached his full size. Parrots are almost adult size when they leave the nest, and he's got at least some of his adult plumage so he's fairly mature. Maybe he's just small.

I don't think he is small because I have also watched videos of wild ones and they are his size maybe the pet ones they look bigger because they are being recorded so close up.Some of his adult plumage? Does he not have it all?

I wasn't sure whether he did or not. If you think he's got it all, then he's probably as big as he's going to get.

Most of the pictures that I can find don't have anything in them that would give you a good idea of how big the bird is. For example there's a picture of a bird on a branch but you don't know how thick the branch is. When I do find a picture that helps tell you the size, they look kind of small. For example here's a picture of two plummies in a cage with standard budgie sized bars, and the birds don't look all that big.

Is it natural behavior for her breed?

Yeah they are very clowish from what I see.Remember Mango is Male

Well i dont know anything about them. Does he play on his back in his cage

He is rarely on his back.Plum heads are very acrobatic too.Think of a indian ringneck black ring its a boy.

These quotes are getting big

Let's continue the chain, shall we?

Anyways, I am convinced that Caiques are the puppy dogs of the bird world. They're so goofy.

I know right! I love conures, they're very fun. I think conures lay on their backs more because it's part of their nature, but I'm not so sure about the plum headed parakeets. You could ask though.

There's a vendor at the Tucson bird mart who brings a lot of young conures, and you see a lot of them lying around on their backs in the container. Sometimes it looks like he has a bin full of dead birds lol. I haven't seen IRNs doing anything like that. I don't think we usually get plumheads at the bird mart since Joyce stopped breeding them.

AWWW. Nothing better than a bunch of sleepy conures! I love conures. Since when did Joyce stop coming to the bird mart?

Oh, she still comes to the bird marts. In fact she's the main person organizing the bird marts, since she's the president of the bird club. But she stopped breeding birds several years ago because she's retired. She's still got one plumhead that she keeps as a pet, and he's a gorgeous boy.

At this point I think maybe we're still talking just because it's so funny to watch the chain of quotes getting longer and longer.

HAHAHA! So true. I'm glad you're still in contact with Joyce. I never knew she had a plum head. Maybe you can redirect her to the forum and say that the members requested her. :)

She's not into the internet. She has a computer but only checks her email about once a week. I'm sure she wouldn't be interested in hanging out on a forum.

Soo... How's the weather?

It's so cold right now that many of my uncles birds have died. It's dangerous
