Well i dont know anything about them. Does he play on his back in his cage

He is rarely on his back.Plum heads are very acrobatic too.Think of a indian ringneck black ring its a boy.

These quotes are getting big

Let's continue the chain, shall we?

Anyways, I am convinced that Caiques are the puppy dogs of the bird world. They're so goofy.

I know right! I love conures, they're very fun. I think conures lay on their backs more because it's part of their nature, but I'm not so sure about the plum headed parakeets. You could ask though.

There's a vendor at the Tucson bird mart who brings a lot of young conures, and you see a lot of them lying around on their backs in the container. Sometimes it looks like he has a bin full of dead birds lol. I haven't seen IRNs doing anything like that. I don't think we usually get plumheads at the bird mart since Joyce stopped breeding them.

AWWW. Nothing better than a bunch of sleepy conures! I love conures. Since when did Joyce stop coming to the bird mart?

Oh, she still comes to the bird marts. In fact she's the main person organizing the bird marts, since she's the president of the bird club. But she stopped breeding birds several years ago because she's retired. She's still got one plumhead that she keeps as a pet, and he's a gorgeous boy.

At this point I think maybe we're still talking just because it's so funny to watch the chain of quotes getting longer and longer.

HAHAHA! So true. I'm glad you're still in contact with Joyce. I never knew she had a plum head. Maybe you can redirect her to the forum and say that the members requested her. :)

She's not into the internet. She has a computer but only checks her email about once a week. I'm sure she wouldn't be interested in hanging out on a forum.

Soo... How's the weather?

Dark

It's so cold right now that many of my uncles birds have died. It's dangerous

Eek! Exactly where is he located? This winter a lot of the weather in Tucson was colder than average (although it's really nice right now). But it wasn't too dramatic. We had more cold days than usual but the temperature didn't go down any further than it usually does on a cold day.

Mel's comment makes me think of something George Carlin said during a weatherman routine: "Tonight's forecast... dark! Changing to widely scattered light by morning."

P.S. for Brandon: I think Joyce is out of town. I've been trying to reach her for over a week because I need to pick up some bird club stuff from her, but I can't find her. I called her again today and she didn't answer.

He's in Rio Rico. No birds have died this month, but on November, 14 of his birds died. He stopped it by wrapping plastic around them and leaving a hole on the bottom so they'd have oxygen. But still, it's very cold.

Rio Rico is at a 4500 foot elevation so it would be about 10 degrees colder there than in Tucson. In Arizona, the altitude makes a big difference in the weather! I'm glad he found a way to protect the surviving birds.

I was able to find some information on two Irish bird clubs, and one of them is in Dublin!

You should be able to get more information there.

It looks like they're mostly interested in holding shows, which probably isn't what you're really looking for. But if there's an ordinary pet bird club in the area, they would probably know about it.
