I can't cope with his adorable little face and those big black eyes!

Kakarikis are adorable little birds. At a fairly recent bird mart, one of the vendors had some that were so sweet I wanted to take one home.

Alas, I have too many birds already. If I was going to add to the flock, my first choices would be a female princess parrot so I could get some POW babies (preferably the blue mutation, since Dweezil is split to blue), and a lutino male cockatiel (preferably pastelface lutino) so I could get more lutino babies.

Ouch! That looks painful. I never had that type of bite...and I had a conure!

I only have one lovebird, but if I had to add another one, I'd add another lovebird. Preferably female.

Carolyn, please add another POW to your flock when you get room. I'd love POW babies. They are so uncommon.

The uncommonness is both a blessing and a curse, and I'm afraid that it might be hard to sell them. It would take some hunting to find a female that isn't closely related to Dweezil, because his breeder is usually the only one with POWs at the bird marts. Dweeze is friendly and has a great personality but apparently this is kind of exceptional. Princess parrots in general are considered to be more of an aviary bird, with less pet quality than a lot of other species. So I'm not sure that the chicks would even make good pets.

I think that the blue POW are absolutely stunning with their lovely powder blue. I am hoping to get my new cockatiel aviary up in the next few months and I would love to add a couple more pairs. I have a thing for white faced birds and I would love some white faced pieds!

The bite from the other post? Yeah that hurt haha. Conures aren't that bad for bites I don't think. The white cockatoos will do the most damage with their shovel beaks
