I got the pics uploaded, I will jsut leave direct links, because i don't feel like resizeing them. If you look you can see the different colors on his face, not sure if it is cherry or not, but the color came in very quickly. And the mirror is his friend "Flow". We got that idea form the fish in the fish tank in "finding nemo" anyways less talking, more pics

not the best of lighting because it was taken in the morning. I think the second picture ( the one with him next to the mirror) is the best pic anyone has ever taken of him. Did you notice? in some of the pics he is on my finger! What do you guys think? Girl, or boy?

The changing on your budgie is because she is going into mode for breeding. It just happens. It will go back when she is done. You can do an image google for "female budgie" click on the second image. Then enlarge it to see all the different pic's of female in breeding mode and going out of breeding mode. I wanted to put the site here but it is too long to copy and paste it on here, sorry.

No, she will be fine. Just let her. It will go away when the season is not breeding season. Each year you will notice it and know by that she is in breeding mode. It does not mean she has to breed. I myself do not breed birds but I have had many birds that did that.

I see you asked boy or girl. I think girl and they can get pretty darn cranky but keep holding her to keep her tame. She is beautiful!!

The second pic is my favourite. Too bad it isn't right. It was centered. I'll see if mel can fix it

She certainly looks like a girl! The brown cere is a definite clue.
I don't want to scare you here, but you need to know that hens will sometimes lay eggs even though they don't have a mate. Budgies aren't as bad about this as cockatiels are, but it still happens sometimes. I've had several female budgies in the past that never laid any eggs even though in some cases I had a male budgie who wanted very much to be her boyfriend.
If she does lay any eggs you should let her keep them until she loses interest (or for at least a week if she doesn't show any interest) because taking them away will stimulate her to lay more to replace the egg(s) you took. It's very unlikely that you'll have a problem with egg binding but you should know the symptoms just in case. Here are a couple of links: http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm ... cleid=3060 http://www.tailfeathersnetwork.com/bird ... laying.php
