Why should you lose him? He's young, strong, healthy... But I understand that the thought crawls in sometimes. In all honesty there are some of my birds that make me hope that they'll outlive me, to avoid me the pain.

Cloudy, it's so true! The group dynamics have changed and now there is already one emerging as the "problem child".
Of the seven, bubu is the only one I bought, the others are all rescues, some of them with horrific pasts, so they are all a bit wonky in the head. Maybe it's just because I have more time to observe them, but definitely Hamish is having the hardest time right now. He used to be cage bound, now he want to be out with the others all the time but he feels very insecure. He's definitely the one to follow right now.
Keith is the passive-aggressive alpha, with bubu and strider as henchmen, and everyone else wants to be with them, but the two henchmen shoo away the others. Hamish and Bimbo are the ones who are really upset about it. But Hamish is more fragile. Bimbo is in good terms with everyone else and starting to be accepted by the alphas so I am not worried.

I meant in time Barbara. It's all going to happen at some point.
