I think this will be a good thread to keep around here as a sticky for us parrot owners.

I wanted to make a thread so all of us can post our parrot life hacks we found to make parrot owning easier and more time for fun with our birds and less time cleaning up after them. I'll start.

Having trouble keeping up with your bird shooting seeds everywhere every time he/she eats from his food dish?

Buy 'No Mess Tidy Bird Feeding Dish'. It's a specially built food dish that has all 3 sides of the bowl closed with a perch inside the food bowl. The bird goes in to eat and comes out when he is done. These work inside and outside of the cage, whichever you prefer! The result of this product is that you will save so much more food, especially pellets since the whole pellet is edible but the bird cracks it in half eating some of the pellet and dropping the rest on the floor. Other benefits are: No food everywhere on the floor, no mess, no bugs, no waste, and no frequent cleaning!!

You can order the product online from My Safe Bird Store: http://m.mysafebirdstore.com/product.cg ... duct=16787

My bird won't eat his pellets, he is a seed junkie!!

Pellets are a great food for birds because seeds just don't cover up all of the parrots nutritional needs. Some birds won't eat pellets or at least prefer their seeds over their pellets.
One thing I observed with my birds is that they can get lazy sometimes. They would rather just eat whatever is closest instead of working hard for their food. That's why I had an idea "What if I just put my pellet bowl on top and my seed bowl on the bottom?" And guessed what? It worked!! He eats both his seeds and pellets. I recommend putting the seeds and pellets in separate dishes so that you can save your pellets with parrot life hack #1.

Feel free to add any life hacks you learned from your birds. I'll add more as I gain more experience with my bird. He teaches me something new everyday. :D

This is something you can do on cold days like the winter after giving your birds a bath what I do is wrap them up in a small blanket with their head stickjng out and just relax with them for a while until they start to warm up then I put them in their cage with a blanket over it to keep them warm until they dry.I done this yesterday because it was too warm in my room and I didnt want to turn the heating on because then I would be even hotter.
