It's been 6 days now, I have been able to control their behavior. (Hopefully)

At least she stopped the dancing thing,
He, well, he's doing the call thing, she seems not to care (hopefully)

What I did:

Apply the 12-14 hour sleeping time, they go at 5 and uncover them at 5 but they get active about an hour and a half later, since still dark outside

Remove any shredded toy they had

Also, I noticed that she liked my hubby very much, (not before) like just with him wanted to be preen, not with me, also, just to hear his voice she'll reacted, flying to him making noises, so, she doesn't spend time with him anymore

But, the Biggest Improvement that I noticed, is when I put branches of mesquite, in their play stand and also in their cage, I mean, that was like WOW to them, they spend all the time in there, this was this past Saturday

I know eventually it will happen, the mating thing, but, at least not this young

Thanks so much for the advise!

And now, the question is:

How long should I keep them in the 12-14 hr sleeping time
I'm kind of looking for maybe one or two weeks more?

So it's better to remove shredded toys? I didn't know that. I thought they would need something to shred when their hormones are high. My tiel's hormones are quite high at times and the problem is that if he doesn't have anything around he shreds himself (I mean he plucks his neck and chest feathers).
I want to go to the vet soon to talk about this problem again because I think he might even need some meds, although generally I am against meds. We will see what she says. I know it is behavioural. I have tried everything and sometimes it works well, but not always. It has been hot here in the last few days and I think he was itchy, so he destroyed the good work of 2 months in 2 days. He was doing so well... So I am going to call the vet today. Obviously even a soft collar would be a torture in hot weather, so we will see what she says.

I'm glad it's working out!

As for how long to keep up the hormone control, the answer is "as long as you need to". If you stop doing it after a couple of weeks and they don't start feeling romantic again, fine. If they do start feeling romantic then you have to start it again. I basically do it all year long except for when I want my birds to breed. For about half the year we just follow the natural light cycle. For the rest of the year I have to create artificial winter conditions using a heavy cage cover to keep them from seeing how long the days really are.

Yes! I'm glad too!

I'll go with as long as you need to.

Addicted.to.tiels by no means take it as an advise, I just stated what I did and it seems to work to me.
I'm here always seeking for advise my self [WINKING FACE]

I'm sorry for your little guy, I have read about it and it's no fun ....

Hope you get help with him

Thanks. Yes, if something works for our tiel we definitely have to do it.
The best for my tiel seems to be my shoulder, but he can't be on my shoulder 24/7, so when he's off it he can get frustrated. It is hot and sticky right now and I think that's also a problem. He was doing so well and I was so proud of him.
Yesterday I saw a man in the street with a lorikeet on his shoulder. The lorikeet also seemed to be a plucker, and in the same position as mine. It happens... Hopefully the weather will improve soon.
