I wasn't serious. But I thought what if a psychic could "become" an escaped bird, to be able to see with the bird's eyes, and then to feel what the bird feels and to "follow" the bird in his journey.

I just saw this now. I'm so sorry. I agree with Carolyn. I think this was a much better ending. Not only did you get to see him one last time, you also won't have to wonder where he went, if he's hungry, or if someone found him. Even though it is sad. You guys DID technically reunited (even if he wasn't conscious).
