Emma currently has four eggs, and is devoted to them. Silver kind of misses her, but a nice thing for me is that he seeks me out, flying to my shoulder and sitting there contentedly for a long time.

I finally found a dish that Emma is accepting for her eggs. I think she must have intense feelings of pleasure sitting on those eggs. Perhaps it creates a surge in different hormones. One would think she would get bored: "Oh, darnit! how much longer am I going to have to sit here until they hatch?" But, no, she goes into this dreamy state.

Then, there's that swaying back and forth she does when she thinks I am coming too close. She was very surprised yesterday when she didn't come out when I wanted to clean it, and I just lifted the cage up off it's base. She got up then and went on top of the cage and had a good wash. I didn't have to chase her off the eggs, which I think I would have to wear gloves for. So much nicer to handle things peacefully.

How sweet! Cockatiels tend to be VERY devoted to their eggs, and it's common for pairs to squabble over who gets to sit on them. Sometimes they divide the eggs between themselves and both parents sit at the same time.
