The birds were out early last evening. Then, they started calling for their dinner. So, I brought it to them and they chowed down from the bowl on the bottom of the cage.

As they finished, I turned off the light over their cage and went over to talk to them about what a good day we had had. Each of them went up to his/her favorite high perch or swing and started beak grinding, while looking at me. I sang them a little song and went to get their cover. They can definitely see me getting the cover and unfolding it as I get ready to cover them.

I felt like I was tucking little kids in to bed. They seem to really know their daily routines and like them.

I feel like they are happy little birdies, and it makes me happy.

So sweet. I sang to the birds every night when they were all sick. I save my voice for when they are ill. It lets them know it is something special.

Even my "I hate humans" birds (Elvis and Azazel) will sing along if I whistle to them. Birds love music.
