This is Chika. He/she is a sun conure, but I think she's a girl. I've never met her, but this is the first picture I've gotten of her, and I am supposed to get updated pictures every now and then by the rescue.

I don't understand. You bought the bird but you don't get to keep her? How does it work? Are you allowed to keep her as a pet? Chicka is beautiful!

You don't buy the bird. You send in a donation every now and then to support her and find an adoption home. If I keep her with me in my house until she finds a forever home, that would be fostering. I can't handle the screaming from a sun though.

I don't sponsor a specific bird, but I'm a supporting member of the Oasis Sanctuary. That means I send them money once a year lol. It's mentioned in the Parrots of Telegraph Hill movie because that's where Mark Bittner took four disabled cherry-headed conures at the end of the movie.

What a beauty! But I'm with you on the noise, they are unbearable :lol:
I only saw two in my life, in a sanctuary, and they overpowered any other bird in the nearer aviaries!
