because I am going through a major case of "MBS" (multiple bird syndrome) here. Every time I go to petsmart, I see the budgies, and I feel so tempted to get one or two. I don't even have an extra cage for a bird anymore, and it probably wouldn't get along with Lucy all that well. She can only tolerate Joey next to her when they're in my room, so imagining her with a smaller bird in a cage would probably be a disaster. Plus, a budgie with it's "big bird" attitude, would probably be picking the fights.

At the same time, I'm thinking of getting a second diamond dove, as Joey seems pretty lonely. Doves are social and do best with their own kind, so I'm doing it for his sake, and to probably satisfy my wanting of another bird.

Eventually, I might end up with another cockatiel. Another female maybe, since I'm not looking to breed. Would two female cockatiels be ok together? My main concern is during breeding season when their hormones start acting up.

I would probably need a bigger cage, first.

They say that birds are like potato chips... you can't have just one. For everyone here who's under forty, that's from an old Lay's potato chips commercial series.

Two same-sex cockatiels can get along as well (or as badly) as two opposite-sex birds. It all depends on the personality of the individual birds.

I think one more dove, one more cockatiel, and a couple of budgies would complete your family (just kidding)

Yesterday my husband was putting birds to sleep when me and daughter went to the concert, he texted me to ask how many birds I had..... because he saw only 9...It was funny that he wasn't sure (or maybe not so much funny). A few days ago they were coming in from the outside, the birds got scared and they all flew like crazy, so that the people thought someone might have flown out . I said no, all were still in the house, but yesterday he was assuming we could have one less left for some reasons.

More like: "Birds are like socks: you can never have enough."

When I go to bird shows, I always want just about every bird I find there. Especially the ones that are out, that you can pet. There was a galah at the one I went to in october, that was so friendly, she would nudge her head on your hand to pet. I almost asked for the price, but I knew my parents didn't want a big bird. Plus, even if she were at a price I could afford, a suitable cage wouldn't be.

That is very true, Jan. When I can see them at pet stores, I can hear them chattering through the glass of their enclosure. I thought they were really noisy, until I heard a whole bunch of lovebirds chattering at once at the bird mart I got Lucy from. If you want constant noise...
Actually Jan, I don't think I've seen your budgies, before. Only your tiel and two of your parrotlets (If I remember correctly, you have three, right?). If it's ok, do you have any pictures of them? :)

Chipper, how many birds do you have? I don't even remember. I just know you have a lot
