I get gila monsters in my back yard once every few years. The first picture wasn't mine but this one is:

There are two venomous lizard species in the world and the gila monster is one of them. Their venom isn't deadly but you still don't want to get bitten. If you do get bitten your first problem is to pry the lizard off of whatever body part it has latched onto, because they don't let go.

Both beautiful, Medusa and the Gila monster.
I wouldn't mind to keep a snake, they are beautiful, but I have had pet rats for too many years, I wouldn't be able to feed him properly without feeling sick. Now, if there was something like a vegetarian snake that would be different :D

Medusa ate crickets when she was younger. Now she eats medium sized mice. They don't eat meat all the time, but until they grow up, then it's meat. It really isn't that bad, everybody has to eat. ;)

I have a pair in the bird room with the rest of my flock they get on very well no problems with the other birds. they like to have a nest box to sleep in as characters they love cuddles and I would say they are like miniature greys, I have had a lot more problems with Love birds my bird room flock also includes budgies, finches, cockatiels, lineated Parrots, Ringnecks, kakarikies, plumhead parrots, pineapple conures, green cheek conures, fiery shouldered conures, blue throated conures, crimson Roselle's, Port Lincoln, blue crowned conure, Barra band, Congo African grey, severe macaw and Orange winged Amazons. with over seventy birds in one room any sign of aggression would have been noticed as they have been with me for four years now. they can be very loving birds and trained to do tricks.
