Now I'm just letting you know, the pionus family are not necessarily "pretty birds" compared to some others, but I only care about personality.

My limit is extra large. I handle macaws and cockatoos often, but not Amazons.

Teenage Bird Confessional: I'm scared of Amazons.

Oh yes, and black palms. Scared of those too. Barbara, did you know that their beak is so huge, they can't close it completely? Now THAT'S intimidating.

I put extra large for question #2. I'm comfortable with the physical handling, it's the noise level and psychological needs of the big birds that I don't think I could handle.

I said it was very important to have a cuddly bird, and they said a canary or finch was the best bird for me. Go figure.
