Yeah sorry I thought this forum was a local one. What I would do in your situation is just get another bird if you want. Would your dad even really notice? Budgies are pretty inexpensive to keep and it would be best for your bird. I was having trouble with mine and I just kinda on a whim went and rescued one from craigslist. It was amazing the difference it made. I went from a bird that hated me, bit and was scared to a bird that 2 weeks later comes right to me and is teaching the younger one that people aren't too bad.
