I got an idea from people who offer a service of "calling all your neighbors about your missing pet". They charge a lot of money, and I guess they can only call landlines, not cells, which a lot of people don't have anymore. I never paid them, even though I was approached by them. I thought, why can't I do the same, just not calling but rather giving my neighbors much more valuable piece of info - the picture. A key here is to act fast, it makes sense to get help from the neighborhood scouts (or whoever you have there). We have a group on facebook that is dedicated to missing pets, I know they can sometimes volunteer if you need some "walking around" help. Anyway...the weather now is a big factor. walking around yelling her name is almost the only way of searching when people are not outside much (hence, not a big chance somebody would notice and find her).

I am so sad for you, and for Lucy. Don't give up hope. I am saying prayers that you will find her, I hope that doesn't offend you. After JoJo died, I didn't want another bird yet either, but hubby brought one for me- one that had been hatched the day JoJo passed, and was from the same parents as JoJo. It helped me so much, and though I still miss JoJo, my little Milo has become the most loving little bird and makes me so happy. I am sure your new little one will help your heart.

But someone called at three in the morning. They said they think they found Lucy. They're also nearby.
We tried calling them back. They haven't answered.
We're gonna try later today. Hopefully she will answer, and we can get her today. Thats great news so happy

when somebody told me that they spotted Chipper in a certain location (I didn't even get to talk to them, they left me a note in the door when I wasn't home), I went there, and people who live in that house never opened the door to talk to me. I knew that there was an old lady whose husband passed away not long ago. having no response, I decided to enter her backyard without permission as it was a life/death matter. Didn't find him in her backyard, or maybe it was too late.. Later I got to talk to her, and she admitted that she could have seen him, but she thought from my poster that missing bird was kind of bluish...(hes white face) please, please, please let that be her, alive!

yes, we had some drunk calls about Chipper. Strange that they didn't answer when she called back (I would be happy not to keep somebody's hungry, probably injured, pet if I found him) Hope this wasn't the case and poor Lucy is found.

They emailed me too. I didn't mention anything of a reward at all on either of the craigslist ads, so trying to fake a found bird would seem iffy, probably. Quote: Hello my name is Andrea and I believe I have found your bird Lucy. She seems to be doing okay but probably uncomfortable since she is not home with you. I just live one street away on Ina and Meredith so just give me a call at (***)***-**** so we can bring Lucy home! (I took out the number for privacy concerns) I really want to believe it's real. And it's not so much that they didn't answer, but the call didn't even go through. After a few rings, it would make some strang beeping sound like the call had dropped, or something. I responded to the email, saying that the calls haven't been going through. I'm really hoping this is real.
