They finally called back. It was a young woman, and was apparently from a Christmas party.

Right now, she seems kinda weak. We have her on a heating pad, with food and water. If she doesn't regain strength, I plan on going to a vet.

She she saw me, she made the strangest sounds, like she was crying. I could tell by the awkward feather that sticks out, that it was her.

and she probably was.
i am so glad you got her...
Ask Carolyn what vet would see you on Sunday.
Is she not eating?
I hope she recovers. God bless people who found her...
I think you will need to take her to the vet regardless

do you see no obvious injures?
I think it's a miracle that she survived for 4 days in the wild in the winter...

I suggest that you don't wait to see a vet. You don't want to lose her after you found her. She may need some nutrition given thru the feeding tube (or whatever is the way to feed them when they don't eat - from syringe?).
I hope Carolyn can even drive to your house to help...
Pull thru, Lucy!

She's eating a nutri-berry right now, in the sun. I have veggies too, and I'm gonna try to get her to drink. She can stand walk on her own, though she may have lost some weight. I'm just trying my best to make sure she eats and drinks right now.

When she is better, ask her to tell you all about her adventures in the wild

Electrolyte replacement solutions (aka rehydration drinks) are wonderful for birds that are weakened or sick. If you have Gatorade or a similar sports drink on hand you can give her that, or Pedialyte or coconut water. There are easy recipes for making your own. The simplest one only uses salt, sugar and water:

If you have baking soda and/or lite salt (potassium chloride) on hand, here's a more complicated recipe from the World Health Organization:

If she's too weak or too disinclined to drink, you can soak a few millet seeds in the solution and then feed them to her on your finger. I did that with Vlad once when he was weakened by a damaged blood feather, and it really helped a lot.

I can swear that presence of a new bird doesn't help her at all :)
She is probably thinking - WTF (pardon my language, I thought in this tread a language like this is OK:)

I got her to drink some water too. I think she'll be alright.

I'll try some Gatorade though. She's starting to look better already.

And it's ok chipper. the new bird looks just as confused as her.
