Bebe, the year later Happy Gotcha Day Little boy It’s been year since Bebe came to live with me. We have done a lot of learning from each other. He came malnourished, in filthy nasty cage, terrified of any thing human, but especially hands. He was addicted to his mirrors in his cage. During his quarantine period, he barely ate anything that was good for him. He was sunflower seed junkie, that is all he ate and maybe some millet. If you put soft food in his cage, he would toss the dish on the floor of his cage. He was addicted to human junk food, Doritos, Fritos, coco puffs, cheerios, and God know what else he was fed with. He was vicious mean and would bite in heart beat, I know cause I am the one who he bit. There was no forgiveness within him. After a visit with Dr. Barb and biting her savagely, he went to visit Dr. Tony. They were prepared for him at the clinic. Once his blood work came back I knew that I would have to watch his diet very carefully. All that crap he was fed left him with liver and kidney damage. Once he was out in the living room, where he could be a apart of the family. He was even more afraid, if that is possible. He was attacking my head & face, beak and talon. Ok, buddy, we will work thru this at your pace. If you don’t want to be out of your cage, that is your choice. But sooner or later you will try it and maybe like it. Fingers crossed. As of today, he is eating some soft foods, coming out of his cage if he chooses. He has figured out foraging toys and loves finding Nutria berries and globes of millet. I sort his food and he gets a few sunflower seeds daily. He will eat a few pellets now and again. He likes Mom’s homemade parrot cookies and parrot crackers. He goes to visit Sweet Pea but it’s not often. He has sat on my shoulder and on my hand, but he prefers to sit by himself. He still lunges for a bite of flesh, but I know what to watch for now. He will be sweet and cranky within seconds of the other. He has gain weight back slowly and he can fly like a ‘TOP GUN’ pilot when he doesn’t want to go to bed, even with his wings clipped. He has learn to fall asleep being covered at night. We still have some battles ahead of us with his baggage from his former home. My hopes for him in the future, are the following: he will come and sit with me, he will quit attacking my ponytail for being on my head. He will find that this is a happy home where he is loved, cherished and respected. He learn to like his veggies and try things without a battle of wills. Happy Gotcha Day little Bebe. Love you mom.

they are kept in separate cages, he will land on her cage and she pretty much ignores him. if she is out she runs to his cage. and he ignores her.

Speaking about birds junk, let me ask how bad this crackers are (sold in natural food sections): http://www.foodshouldtastegood.com/prod ... multigrain Ingredients: Stone Ground Corn, High Oleic Sunflower Oil and/or Safflower Oil and/or Canola Oil, Brown Rice Flour, Flax Seeds, Cane Sugar, Sesame Seeds, Sunflower Seeds, Quinoa, Sea Salt, Rosemary Extract. per serving (10 crackers) Sodium 80g Sugar 1g My birds (almost 10 of them) never consume even close to 10 crackers (1 serving). I crush maybe 3-4 crackers all together My birds are not fed any additional sunflower seeds
