Really I tried it on Sunshine and Kaylee with my brother's UV pen!I don't think Kaylee glowed though it was pink but Sunshine did! His head was yellowish green and his body was pink, around his eyes, cere and his little dark blue feathers around his face .Try it out!

PS My brother got it from the Book Fair

I've tried it out on my cockatiels before and they didn't appreciate it lol. But it's actually useful for things like seeing female/juvenile markings or pearl markings on a lutino bird.

Lol! when I shined it on the floor of the cage Sunshine was looking down at it .They didn't really mind but is it okay if I shine it on their face?
My brother said it won't make them blind but I'm not sure...

Yes, it's OK to shine it on their faces. Birds can actually tolerate medium ultraviolet (UVB) light a lot better than humans can - that's the part that gives us sunburn. Unlike us, birds can see into the near ultraviolet (UVA) part of the spectrum. They can see colors that we can't even imagine!

Many birds have markings that are only visible in UVA light, and some of the markings on male budgies look extra-good to females in the UV part of their visual spectrum. Tests show that females prefer the males with the best UV fluorescence! They say that females don't have this UV fluorescence, so that's probably why one of your birds glowed and one didn't.

If you're interested in learning more about birdie vision, there's a simplified article at http://www.windowalert.com/birdvision.html and a more complex one at http://www.webexhibits.org/causesofcolor/17B.html

Ohh no wonder when the light got in their eyes they didn't seemed bothered and Sunshine's UV feathers glowed more than Kaylee's.
