Here are some pics of Zippi... not too good.
But I'm sure you'll see how he looks...
don't feel sorry for him, as he is a very very happy bird except for his plucking.. and we are use to seeing him like this or even worse sometimes....
Taken this afternoon... (laptop been mended) :cheery: :cheery:

As you can see Zippi sits straight and proud...
he doesn't realize... we luv him that's all that matters.. isn't it?

I like Zippi. He looks like a puff.

That's definitely some heavy plucking but he did leave some small feathers on his wings, especially on the underside from what I can see. He's bald but beautiful, and he looks happy.

Zippi is so beautiful! Even cuter with the heart wings Image

I would recommend clipping his nails, since they are long, the vein grows with the nail so you shouldn't cut too deep, just a little of the tip so the vein can slowly get smaller and after a week you should cut another tip and then repeat the process until his nails don't curl like that :D
Make sure you have flour or quick stop(I think that's what it's called) in hand so if he starts to bleed, you can stop it

Zippi is a sweetheart and still beautiful even with all the plucking. When I saw these pics I exclaimed: Why are you doing this to yourself!!!! EXACTLY the same words I say to my partner who bites his nails down to the quick... But they both must have their reasons to do it. I pick the skin around my nails, so I could never judge fellow pluckers :)

Is there a pattern on his plucking? You say that sometimes he does it more and sometimes less. Maybe there is a trigger.

I use cornflour, it does the job wonderfully! When I cut Trilly's nail (she only has one that grows incredibly long and curls) I usually manage to hit the quick, and in two seconds after I put the cornflour on it the bleeding stops! Phew. I am such a coward for these things lol.

Bless him! As long as he is happy and loved I guess he is good.
