I saw TC. While I don’t personally own any birds, it still gives me joy to remember the times I had with them!
TC was my first bird forum that I joined, it honestly saddens me that it went so down.

Since there’s like no staff on there, it wouldn’t hurt to suggest people to come on here?

I’m kidding. That’s probably not right to do, but it’s unfair that TC is the first result on search engines!

This group is currently closed to new members. There were hundreds of spammers signing up every day and that was the easiest way to get rid of them. The software platform for the group is outdated so it doesn't work well on some devices, and there's not enough interest from serious members to make it worthwhile to fix it. Forums like LFB and TC are out of style now, and nowadays most people would rather hang out on Facebook. I think the old-fashioned forums are easier to use than Facebook, but I don't dictate the communication trends!

It’s true. I personally am in a pet related Facebook group and I’ll be honest: I enjoy it much more. It’s super quick and you get replies almost immediately. There’s also so much content every day. Forums were good, but now the hype is Facebook.

I didn’t used to like them because it’s difficult to find old threads and posts, but the search bar fixes that.

Ha man I’m not in any pet related stuff. Birds, horses or reptiles. I pretty much dropped off the face of the earth internet wise. Can’t believe we’ve all grown so much.

I don't do much on bird groups either unless it's a specialty group like the National Cockatiel Society or the Facebook Bird Misidentification Page where there's a significant percentage of knowledgeable people. The general-purpose bird groups on Facebook have a lot of activity, but IMO it's mostly low-quality conversation with too many people who don't know what they're talking about but they talk about it anyway.

I can imagine how being in a more popular pet (like a bird) can attract more nebbish people, but a more uncommon pet i.e a rabbits , generally has less of them and more knowledgeable people.

Steph, it is funny. It seems like all the bird people from back in the day have vanished, but the three of us has still remained together. I’m getting nostalgic now.

:shizzle:

I guess it is tough when it’s a bit about nothing. We’ve been in the bird world so long we pretty much have everything figured out so I can see how it’d be nice to have something new going on.
