They are big. I can't own quails, right? We have an exterminator that exterminates our whole house, including the outside. It's safe for the birds, but we didnt call him for a couple if months and I am starting to see ants again :(
We had such a bad ant problem. They were so bad that they climbed the cage and helped themselfs in the birds food bowl. It was really hard since I have a phobia of bugs, but it's not as bad as cockroaches.

They are not that big, actually, they are as big as a bery fat cockatiel with long legs.
And there are quail species that are smaller than the japanese, Baruch. I think your tiels would like them, mines definitely do.
They are quite funny, now they have started following me around and sometimes I have to herd them back to the bird room because they walk under the bird door screen and wander around. They are pretty funny animals, but boy are they messy!!! They eat the ants and give me one egg a day but I need to clean their corner twice a day.
I need to make a house where I can put wood shreddings on its floor, that might help.
