Don't worry, the title is not about me mothering my 'too, but I did visit her yesterday while up at the cabin in Donner. Yes, she's still there, but she does look better. I got a few pictures and a video of her.

At 0:16 some random child says hello to my buddy Groucho the 'zon.

And now to the least pleasing part. While I was gone at the cabin, I come home this morning to find both Beck and Poppy are missing a deck of their flights on one wing. They had a major night fright and I wasn't there to calm them down. :( Now I feel like the worst mama ever, not only for not being there for them, but now also for the fact that I have to completely clip both of them because they are so off balance. So each one has one wing fully flighted and one missing all the way down.

Don't clip the other wing, or at least don't clip all the feathers! The feathers that got knocked out will start growing back right away and they'll have a full set in a month or less (I'm not sure how long it takes for budgies). If you clip the other wing it could take months to replace those feathers, so they'll be unbalanced when the knocked-out feathers grow back and you'll end up having to clip that wing too to compensate. If they're a danger to themselves right now you can either clip about half as many feathers as you normally would to reduce the imbalance, or you could restrict their flight opportunities for a couple of weeks.

The cockatoo is gorgeous!

Oh okay. I'd rather not clip them anyways. It would be stressful for them and I don't want to scare them when we're making good progress.

And yes, Baby is beautiful. I love her a lot.
