It's not so much about demanding an explanation as finding out whether there's someone who cares about this bird and is desperately trying to find her lol.

I wonder if she's a show bird, or at least was part of a show bird breeding program. In the US at least, show birds are bred to be BIG and a leg band is required to participate in shows. Leg bands have to be put on when the baby is less than two weeks old, which is too soon to know how good their show quality is. Show breeders usually keep the best chicks and sell the rest, so it's possible that she was one of the culls. It's also possible (but less likely) that she's a champion show bird and the owner is having a nervous breakdown because she escaped.

Your line of thought makes a lot of sense.
But, aren't show birds raised to be very tame? Tame she is NOT, I can tell you. I have to towel her every night, she spooks everyone else flying like a mad bat, and a stick offered to her is The Enemy.
But I need to find the person she belonged to originally. I tried last night when I had her toweled but she wriggles like mad and to be honest I am not keen to be bitten lol
I could look at the bird alerts but she was found in Sheffield and, fast as she is, she might have come down from Scotland.

She is now the queen of the bird room and courting Darcy who is between interested and repulsed. He has lost a bit of the Bubu obsession but still it's too early for him to move on, I think.
I am living next monday for almost a week and I am tempted to leave her in a cage with him, and see what happens in 5 days.
Argh I forget that I might need to give her back to the rightful owner
I like Cass, she would end up being called Cassie though.
I wanted to call her Satan or Jezebel, but that is really asking for trouble.

Did you note as she's full of spots everywhere? behind her head, the neck, she's got spots even on her wings.

She acts exactly like my Cloudia. Cloudia is the queen of the flock as well. Every tries to court her and she rejected them all.

The spot behind your head means your bird is split to pied

The spot all over her body and wings and face is called a spot gene. Here is a quote from Carolyn.

The spot gene is a phenomenon that no one really understands, and nobody is really talking about it except for here on this board. Some cockatiels have unexplained little spots on their chest and a few other signs. I've been trying to figure it out for about five years now. The information collected so far indicates that it's actually a wild-type trait that may have been somewhat modified in captivity and may now need the whiteface gene to bring it out - approximately 90% of the spot gene birds that I've observed are either visual whiteface or known to be split whiteface, and some of the remaining 10% might be split whiteface without the owner knowing it.

It also might be related to the pearl gene somehow, either as a predecessor of it or as a degraded version of it. Like pearl markings, hens keep their spots for life and males lose them at maturity. There are some known cases where a pair that was expected to produce pearl babies produced spot gene babies instead.

BTW I made up the expression "spot gene" because it was useful to have a name for it. The general cockatiel community isn't familiar with the term unless they've been talking to me or other people on this board.

Also, I couldn't help to notice Bubu on the left. Is that how my babies are going to look like? I am so excited. He is SOO handsome. Is that Bubu? I think it is because of the black feet

Not exactly. I've seen budgie shows and they are wild birds.

I still like Cass. I don't like Satan though. I find that one creepy.
