My flock used to go absolutely ape-poop over millet. All 4 of them. I only give millet sprays occasionally and only as a treat from the hand. Now, I hardly give them any at all so my husband and son can give the millet, since they need to work on their relationship with Coyote (the calling for me is driving them nuts and my son is getting hurt feelings that Coyote doesn't like him when he's with me).

Funny thing is, it seems like since they get millet rarely now, instead of it being even more treasured, it's like they've forgotten how awesome it is. I can eventually get them all munching on a spray but they definitely do not come running up to it like crazy like they used to.

Anyone else notice something like this?

Edited to add: Their dry diet is a mix of seed mix (I choose mixes that have a LOT of variety of seeds, not just a ton of millet and a few other things) and pellets, that goes with whatever else I feed them like my weird birdy bread concoctions or veggie/egg mashes or whatever. So they're not getting a ton of millet in their regular diet either.

You know, it probably is as simple as that. I enjoy feeding them and have several feeding stations around their little area... they probably are just satiated most of the day.

Yes, they're probably not hungry.

I agree, my birds loose interest in millet,
some times its in the cage for ages, other times
its eaten so fast....
Like us, have it too often and it gets boring!

Birds tend to eat most early in the morning and late in the day as bedtime is approaching. So that's a good time to hit them up with the millet spray.
