So my brother went downtown to get food for his quail, and we all expected to see him with a bag of food. But when he came home, I saw he had the food bag and a shoe box with holes poked through it. Of course, I immediately thought: Bird! . But he opened it and there was nothing in it. I was shortly depressed, but then I remembered I already had two of them and they're still a lot of work so decided to just forget about it. My brother puts the box and the food on the floor and goes outside. He comes back in with another shoe box; this one contained:

- A cockatiel
- A big poo

Oh my god! HE BROUGHT ANOTHER FREAKISH COCKATIEL HOME! We don't know what to name him. He asked me if I could ask YOU (Bird lovers) to give us some ideas for his/her name. Could you help us?

The bird in the left is Pip, the bird on the right is Coco and the one on the middle is Nooburd (new bird)

I look at them in the eye:

The most honest one: Pip

The lyar: Coco

The clueless: Nooburd

You can see their intentions in their eyes...

JK!! They're all different types of pieds

I kind of like the name Nooburd actually, the spelling makes it funny. It usually takes me a few days or weeks to settle on a name for a new bird. I try out different names, and when I find the right one I know it. Dweezil had several temporary names until the day I thought of Dweezil and knew it was the right name.

So should I really just leave Nooburd as his name?

I'd say, wait a week or two to discover his personality, and see what may fit.

I usually pick some default human name, until I figure out what to name the bird. Problem is, I usually end up sticking to the human name, because I'm so used to it. That's how Lucy became Lucy, and Joey became Joey.

Well, that's half the story, actually. Lucy was partially inspired by a very old show that I should be to young to know about, called "I love Lucy". When I gave Joey his "temporary" name, I was thinking about kangaroos. I don't know why... (coincidentally, diamond doves are actually from australia).

"Nooburd" sounds like "Noober", which rhymes with "Goober". Maybe you could name him that. Nah I'm kidding. Like I said, just wait a week or so.

If he likes to eat peas, this could be his theme song:

You could name him Norbert instead of NooBurd. Although I must say Nooburd has a nice ring to it.
