WOW never in my life what a budgie surprise me with. So I had millet in my hand. Gave some to Leilani, stardust got scared and back away. Stardust watch Leilani and came over to try it while my hand is there. So I move by there food dish I have on the door with millet in my hand. Stardust watch me, flew over a couple time even thought she so scared. Finally Stardust did it,she flew over by her food dish and she ate millet from my hand. So if I keep doing this I think Stardust will get used to me what do you guys think so far? I am so nerves about letting them fly in my room. I am going to get Leilani and Stardust wings clip. I just don't trust them, once they are fully tame I will going to the next step. At the moment I only doing inside cage tame.I can tell Stardust never been handle. I got her from the pet store. Same with Leilani. But Leilani is part tame.

They seem to be making great progress and if they are flighted they will feel more confident.

Maybe u should start inside the cage so she dosent get hurt shes nervous because shes new and probably needs more time to settle in depending on when u got her.

Clipping can be very useful when you're training a new bird. It makes it a lot easier to work with them, and the bird is less likely to get hurt from flying around in a panic crashing into things The feathers will grow back, so you can always let her be fully flighted later on when she's comfortable with you.

Congratulations on getting her to eat millet from your hand! Feeding a bird treats from your hand is a great way to teach them that they can trust you, and good things happen when they're with you.

Ive found clipping wings a very good way to help with training...
Some people are against it... some not... its all a matter of what is best for you...
Try it... the feathers will grow back... I keep 3 of my birds clipped as they are a danger to themselves if fully flighted..
good luck with the training...
