Seriously Carolyn you were right you get banned from that forum just for helping people and giving them the right information.

I'm not sure whether the people who are running that group now are the same ones who banned me for posting too many helpful links. I don't remember the names of the people I talked to but I'm pretty sure it wasn't anyone called Pajarita because that name is too memorable. The people I talked to had ordinary names, like Sue and Steve or something equally mundane.

I went looking for the thread that got you banned and found this one: http://theparrotforum.com/viewtopic.php ... 20&start=0 I haven't actually read it yet. I noticed something odd - this board hides the exact url of the threads which makes it hard to link to it, but I figured out a way to do it anyway. I've never seen a forum that did that before. Do they not want people linking to their discussions?

P.S. Brandon, if you can log out of that group you might be able to view their threads again. Or if you look at it on a different computer without logging in it might work for you. When they banned me I couldn't see anything at first, but these techniques let me see it again.

Actually, that thread ended quite a little while before he got banned. I think what caused him to be banned was this one: http://theparrotforum.com/viewtopic.php ... 63#p110363

I have to agree that you did get argumentative with them lol. But they don't know what they're talking about. Apparently they've dropped me from their banned list, because I was just able to re-register using the same information as before. I'll see whether I can get banned by politely giving them science-based information.

 Carolyn, I would love to see that. I wouldn't be using articles from here though. They could dismiss it as "non-scientific" or "using your own articles to prove points that aren't correct" or something, and we might end up with some unwanted attention on this forum.

But from what it sounded like, Paj took my advice on the one thread Brandon got argumentative on, and took it to PM at least.

It honestly drives me crazy when she argues like that sometimes. The arguments she has with some members can last for several pages long, and then it just strays completely from the initial topic of the thread. I almost had it with the one that happened in this thread, when she started talking about hormones, but the maker of the thread got it back on topic. Though here's what I might have said:
what I would have wrote:
I'm sorry, but can we please drop this? It shouldn't matter the cause of Rio's aggression, because he is in a home where he is happy now with a family that loves him. If you have something to argue about, I suggest you do so via PM.

This thread isn't even about Rio. It's about Liv's poor Quaker who ended up with a giant hole on his torso due to mutilation. While Liv seems to have it taken care of, I suggest we stop wasting time and energy on a thing of the past, and start trying to help Liv come up with ideas to improve her bird's quality of life so he won't feel the need to pluck and self mutilate ever again.

I am kind of thankful that the maker of that thread stepped in himself though. Things might have turned ugly if I actually posted that.

I'm not one for getting into conflict, but sometimes my mod experience tells me to take charge and end things, even though Paj outranks me in that forum (though the most I usually do as a mod is get rid of spam bots). Sometimes, I don't even know how to feel about Paj. She did help me out a little when I got Lucy back, but sometimes I question her advice. There are a couple of other members I see who constantly counter her, and it can be very, very amusing. Somehow, they even do it without getting banned. Here's one where both said members were arguing with her. It was in a thread I made about Alex: http://theparrotforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=14928
