I've noticed some changes... Coco is humongous. Not even kidding, I was expecting a tiny little thing, and come up with this big fat eagle. What did I miss? Also, Pip has started to be more social, he is more into scritches and stepping up now... And Kiwi was the star of the family, everybody wanted to be and grab Kiwi. That told me that they really didn't socialize much with the other tiels. But I'm extremely happy that my birds are now home with me and they are big flipping Eagles.

Sounds like they've gained some weight alright. Might want to weigh them, to make sure they're not overweight.

I will. But just one thing,

How should I give them a shower? They look ridiculously gross. I have to: trim their wings, give them a shower and weigh them in that order. But the shower part kinda gets me. How should I do it? Every time I gave them a shower, I would forcefully stick them into a big water container and take them out because they wouldn't shower on their own and hated being sprayed. I know it's wrong, so I stopped doing it. But I need to know, HOW SHOULD I GIVE THEM A SHOWER, please....

I put them in the shower with me sometimes if they don't want to bathe themselves. They don't necessarily like it, but sometimes Alex manages to get poop on his back, and I have to wash it out.

What Lucy likes is to get in a small tub of warm water, and bathe. She also likes it when I pour it on her. Alex on the other hand, isn't into baths so much, hence the shower.

Basically, you just put it there, and let them explore it on their own.

Rocko hates showers too and Loki loves being misted but I just mist Rocko anyway and he doesn't fly away anymore.If I give him a shower I just stick him on the shower perch and get him wet.Why do their wings need to be trimmed?

I would just spray them with a mister whether they like it or not, with them in the cage so they can't get away. My experience is that cockatiels always hate showers at first and have to learn to like it, and the only way for that to happen is to make them do it. In the wild they wouldn't have any choice about whether to get wet or not when it rains, unless they can find a good sheltered spot. Coco should really know better already since he had some showers with me, but maybe the others never learned to enjoy it.

They probably look huge to you because you've been looking at a budgie for several days, and your eyes have gotten used to seeing a small bird instead of a slightly bigger one. Just think of what would happen if you came home to macaws instead of cockatiels!

Erik is not allowed to have birds indoors, so if he were to bring them out of the cage for any reason, they would have to be clipped to prevent flying away.

Exactly. I would love to keep them fully flighted, but they could escape and injure themselves.

I just misted them. They hated it, but now they look a little cleaner, although I have to say that they do need to molt, their feathers are VERY ugly right now.

I've noticed with Satchimo, that he is very sharing, and doesn't fight. He even kind of enjoyed that shower. He's very social. And the tiels just want to bite anything they see. I'm pretty sure that it is because my tiels stayed up for a very long time at night, and are feeling hormonal. So I'm gonna start the 14 hour long nights. I'm also going to separate Satchimo from the tiels at night because he could get injured.

Coco: 102g

Pip: 58g

Kiwi: 75g

Satchimo: 32g

Is Pip underweight?

Weird how coco ended up being really heavy and pip really light.

It's possible that pip could be underweight. I wonder what they had to eat while at your friend's house? I remember back before you got kiwi, pip often got his food stolen by coco in the the video where they were eating the seed sticks. I wonder if that happened while at your friend's house.

I hope he didn't feed anything bad for them.
