I let the budgies out this morning, since I was going to be home all day. Piper remembers how to step up.

There were no problems with 2 budgies and 2 tiles out at the same time. I moved their cages closer together and they had a lot of fun climbing all over the outside of each other's cage.

By the end of the afternoon, the budgies were in the tiel cage and the tiels were in the budgie cage. They each seemed happy with that arrangement so I decided to keep them in those cages overnight.

They think it's exciting to visit someone else's cage. Especially if they can steal food while they're in there, and they usually can.

Do you give different kind of seed mixes to the budgies and the cockatiels?

Or are they stealing the same food they get themselves?

I'm thinking of giving them the same seed mix, but then adding the appropriate pellets.

If I let them all out together, they all end up in the same cage and won't leave XD

It's been so much fun the last few days--having all four birds out at the same time. They seem to get along well, so far. They enjoy having two cages to explore and play in. Last night, they all slept in the tiel cage. Tonight, the budgies are back in the budgie cage, and the tiels are in the tiel cage.

Last night, the girls, Winter and Emma, ended up in the budgie cage and the boys, Silver and Piper in the cockatiel cage. This was partly because I was going out to dinner, suddenly realized I had to get them all in first, and kind of unceremoniously pushed them each into the door they were nearest.

I was out most of the day today, and returned to find Winter sitting on top of the budgie cage. What happened was that I had not securely closed one of the food doors. I was glad nothing happened to her while I was out. A bit of a close call, and I do hope never to have that happen again.
